ESC's BEC in twin drive cat

    hi guys

I have some thought whether is it ok to use esc's bec when running my twin drive cat. I haven't done that yet, usually I remove the red wire for both esc's and use external ubec instead. Im using Seaking 180A esc.

I use the BEC with all my T180's..............and on 6s, although some here dont agree with using it at all.............or using the max voltage on it, but mine have not had one problem. I had to manually program the LVC to 3.0v to stop pre-mature cutout on one though.

have you ever use BEC in twin drive cat also? I mean both esc's bec, yes I've also set the cutoff to 3.0V if not it won't go fast as it should be.

I have a twin cat that has some dodgy E-bay special escs. One has bec and the other does not. I always run this cat with a rx pack.

If you have a pair of good and reliable escs then run the rx off ONE of them but not both. i.e drop the red wire from one esc.

I like to run a rx pack in my bigger hulls as there is room and the weight is not an issue.
          See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

I usually run which external ubec which connect to a small 3s lipo but now I just use one bec from the esc as the space is too crowded

I think you pose a question here that I to have been interested in an answer.

In a prior life some years ago I played with brushless aircraft when brushless and lipo technology was in it's infancy. At this time a 10c lipo was amazing!

When we ran two ESC on a heli, we would always disconnect the tail rotor BEC and run off the main rotor ESC BEC. (in this situation we were generally running both ESC's off the same lipo)

Is this practice still followed or is it accepable to run two ESC BEC's in paralell?

If you are going to use a BEC to power your RX, then just use one, pull the middle wire from the other.
