Motor, Esc or Both?

I tried to run my Aquacraft UL1 last week, but I submarined it. I did get some water inside but I dried off everything quickly and all seemed well. I tried to run it again today. No submarining, but it would not get up to speed. Finally it just stopped in the middle of the pond. I managed to get it to shore, but I think that I either burned up the motor or the esc. Anyway to tell? I am still learning.
