I took it apart to clean and replace the 4mm bushings. Well the 4 mm bushings have are smaller OD and allow the rear prop shaft to slide right thru the strut. I reused the old ones, at least they hold the rear shaft. So now what if i needed to replace those bushings? the older ones fit tight in the strut and the new ones slide right thru. Why? also should i be able to move the stuffing tube in and out? mine looks epoxied in but i could still move it.

Dano's, it only moves a little with some force. If I leave it alone it's good...I took it all apart and greased the rear strut....treating me good....60.5 mph and climbing. I've been mess in with the Spartan lately.Genesis (Bosncali Geico Beater) Leopard 4082 1500KV

I used the octura ones. Just one bushing actually and its held up very well on my setup (2150kv leopard, 180 seaking, M445. Kintec also sells the whole replacement assembly with a 3/16th strut.Go Fast...Turn Right...Comment

A) remove both 4mm bushing and install a 3/16 speedmaster bushing. I used this one on my genny, http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...s-spds-014-bsf I cut the it to the proper length used a small dap of ca around the end and pressed it against the strut. It slightly extends the strut so make sure you flexshaft is long enough.
B) after using the first method I then started fully replacing the bushing and this is the method I prefer. takes more time but I like the finished product better. Grab some .187 teflon bushing (i gotmine from aero-marine). Remove the 2 4mm bushing remove the sturt place the strut in a vise drill dead center of the strut with a 1/4 drill bit and press the new bushing in. You have to drill DEAD straight and the proper depth. If you do it right it comes out super clean.
