    Mono issues at full throttle

I am having an issue with this hull. I have the COG at 28% and the strut 0.5 degrees above the keel line and when you want to go full throttle it pushes the bow down hard. It is also cranking to left. It has a fairly large rudder which may be a problem also.

The boat is 45" long and is running a Leopard 4082/1450 on 8s. This is way to high I realise but that is how I got the beasty. It has an X450 prop on which again I think is to big.

With this changed I still believe the problem may exist. I plan to drop down to 6s and try this out.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

ok, here is what i noticed:

at full throttle, the boat is prop walking to the right and you have to hold left into it and when you throttle DOWN the boat naturally goes over to the left IF YOU ARE STILL HOLDING LEFT rudder in it.
The hull is running a bit wet for sure. If it has trim tabs on it MAKE SURE that the tabs are NOT sticking down below the bottom of the hull.
If they are not, then make sure the trim tabs are adjusted so that they are level (even) with the bottom of the hull.

drop down one size of prop to start with and make sure it is BALANCED AND SHARPENED.

the strut anlge should start out level with the hull bottom.

this is a good place to start and should get it going.

check it over and let us know what you find.

    Thanks

6s would be much better to start with...................do you have trim tabs? Are they pushing the bow down? How is your stinger set........neutral, negative??Pics of the rear end would help a bunch...........side shots too.
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

Trim tabs are level with the bottom of the hull. and the stinger is set 0.5 degrees above the line of the keel. It was level with the keel but I lifted it to try that.

I think proping down will help along with a drop to 6s.

Cheers for the help so far

I will post some pics it is just that I am meant to be working. Lets face it FE boats are bit more important. LOL

Try 6s and an x447 if you have one................but you still have some sort of other issue i believe.

I think your weight is too far forward. Even at slow speed when the prop is not creating much lift, the nose is still deep in the water & the shoulders are grabbing in the turns & ripping the boat around.
If you are still having problems after the adjustments that Calcisneros advised, I'd be moving the batteries back a bit.
            Paul.

I think I will thanks. The other problem might be the rudder blade twisting.

              Cheers

Thanks Paul I might pull it to 25% COG and see how it goes.

IMO that motor is a bit small for that hull , im running the same motor in a DF33 & its working hard , as for props on 6s X447 , X646 have been working well for me .

Long term I think you may be correct. In the mean time if I can sort my issues out on this one when the new drops in I am halfway there.

                    Cheers Jason

That motor is way to small for that size hull + your much to high kv on 8s, Almost 43,000 rpm unloaded. You might also have some hook in the hull as well which is renowned for holding hulls to the water so worth checking out. Martin.
