    1717 Mount For 4" Rails

Who makes a "RAIL" style mount for a Castle 1717 for 4" rails? Wanting to build a DF 35" Mono this time.

Which ESC for the 1717 1580kv for 5-6s?

    The New Castle 240 Ice?

    Or the trusty T-180?

you can try here for the rails... ---> http://southriverrcboats.com/shop/ca...aram=cid%3D%26

I would say the new Ice for the ESC if you are going 5S to 6S....

Don't rule out the ETTI Competion Race 150 amp. I'm currently running a 1717 on 6S in a AC Sport 40 on 6S1P. The ETTI is working out great! South River & OSE carry them.

What speeds are you getting with that setup?

I never had a ShordFish ESC...Castle is my favorite other than the T-180, because there easy to program and there warranty department is A+ IMO....

Looking more at the 1717 mount from South River, Its states the rear is two machined pieces to clamp on to the motor cooling fins, Is this going to work with a OSE Jacket?

You could try one of the new ones from fastelectrics.com. This is one with a 1717 Air mounted in a DF21 mk2 mono. Very solid mount, I'm not concerned that the back of the motor isn't supported, I seriously doubt it will flex.

From my experience with the 1717 it doesn't require cooling if you have your setup optimized. I only cool the esc in my 1717/6S1P powered Sprint Cat & AC Sport 40. I use 1/8"Aluminum L-Bracket mounted to the bottom for both, plenty strong. I can see your point needing a rail mount for a mono application.
