What is a good RTR boat for......

.......my buddy's son? He is 7 years old and loves my boats but I really don't want him to run them, especially the 60+ MPH 54" Fountain. He has run the Scarab which is a 30 MPH boat and does very well.

His dad (my close friend) is a fellow boater and he is going to want more than a pool toy for his kid. And I agree.

They are into the twin setup so I was suggesting the EKOS cat. What is the known top speed of that boat out of the box?

the ekos is the only rtr twin cat i know of. it would be a good boat, especially since it will teach them what can and will go wrong with rc boats
