What do i need to do to get a break?

I got my new speed control from Horizon (super customer service by the way) and got everything hooked up and took the Fastech for her maiden run in the tub. went to pull the flexshaft to lube her up before i went to the lake and know it seam that the flex has came apart in the collet, and the flex wires are all over, I'm unable to pull the flex out as its all bunched up, the flex is tight in the collet, is it safe to run it this way or should i get the dremel out and cut the end off and replace, and of course no one has one locally. (mods if this needs to be moved, sorry)

replace it, dont run it it may bunch up more and bind the motor and cause more damage- its hard to find replacement parts at the hobby shop there a ton where i live and stock the proboat and aquacraft boats but not one part

Were you running the drive in the wrong direction? (clockwise)

Yes, yes i did run it in reverse for 2 seconds, I had the motor wires wrong. the prop was free spinning so there was no load on it, so that will do it.

And the parts on backorder per the local hobbyshop ugh.

Is the Fastech shaft the same length as the BJ26? I cant even remember, are the drives similar? If soTB6, I have one you can have for the cost of shipping.. few bucks at most...

Nevermind, just looked it up. I thought the FT ran the same steerable drive. Looking at it on HH, it doesnt appear to be the same. Sorry

No dice on the BJ26 cable, I cant even find what size it is to make one, i think its only a 1/8 cable haven't measured it yet and the net is no help either. None of the 3 local hobby shops have it either.

Ah the Buick, if only I could find another one for the price I paid for this one 11 years ago........... An older couple in the local paper had a 87 Buick regal with hood scoop listed for 2500 bucks, every so often I do get lucky

Well, when you do get it sorted out you'll like that boat-- I had one that I liked a lot-- very stable hull.

Alexgar, Thank you for your efforts, but I was able to find one at a Hobbytowne an hour away.

I cant wait to get it in the water, and then rip it all apart with a little hotter set up, as i have an ABC hobby jetski that's itching to run again on lipo's and brushless power.

I've got a trio of those ABC jetskis that we race informally. Lots of fun. I can recommend a hot setup if you haven't already outfitted it.
