    Timing Motor

ALLRIGHTY im looking at doing a projct useing a 2 EP-1s. Ive asked steve on this but he didnt know to much on this. Ok im trying to counter rotate one EP-1 by reversing the wiring. Steven was telling me that i could use a motor that has adjustable timing on it. Heres are conversation on this.

The problem with just revering the wires is that the motor will spin slower in the opposite direction. So you need a new motor with either neutral timing advance or a motor with adjustable timing that can be changed to spin in the other direction.

unfortunatly he didnt know of any motors like this.
Any knowlodge on this will be welcomed.

speed gems can do that. if they still are available. The exact timing marks are on them and can be turned 180* for reverse. check out the ebay for them. thats the last I saw.

Another solution is to use a FDM transmission with 1/1 gearing and mount it in the boat backwards. This will reverse the prop rotation.

thanks for the replys ReddyWatts what a FDM stand for.
Mich heres what i found on Ebay Speed Gemsim trying to stay in the 19turn Ive heard u cant go any lower without replacing gears on a EP-1 and i already have a 19turn orion. The one 19turn looks like its modified do u know if all these motors are modified? I want to keep a motor as long as possible. And do u think this is a good price for one?
Does anyone else know of any timing motors maybe newer motors

price is pretty good in my opinion, one other thing we used to do "not recomended" is to retard the timing and run tighter springs for less rpm but more torque. if you were to watercool you would be ok, I would check out finedesignrc for the tranny as Reddy posted though. may be safer than messing around with timing if you havent the right equipment.

The Trany is just as much as a EP-1 and i cant put that in a EP-1 so it looks like in need to go with a adjustable timing motor

There are many 05 motors that are neutral. Check out Graupner or Mack Marine. Also I use SV27 motors and an EP-1 modified drive which negates timing configurations. You have to bore out the drive shaft
