    DF26 build questions.

I'm still looking for the hull, but have a couple questions as I order bits and pieces. It'll be powered by an SV27 motor/esc and 4s5000mah.

Is there much benefit to running rails in it, or is it better to just put down a layer of c/f on the whole floor and running a typical mount?

I was thinking of buying a mount like this:
    http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-80200
    or:
    http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-80230

and instead of running the side plates, bolting the aluminum parts directly to the rails. Rail spacing would be dictated by the width of the mount parts.

I know rails stiffen the hull, but is it overkill for a 26" hull on SV27 power?

Having the rails also gives me a nice place to mount a shelf to mount the servo, RX and ESC.

If I do build rails, how thick is adequate? 1/8" lite ply feels stiff enough to me, but I could be out to lunch?

You won't need rails in the 26. A little extra glass or CF will do just fine.

^^ Thanks, I forgot about this section!

Rumdog, will rails have any negative side effects? I think I like the layout I'm picturing with narrow rails and a shelf to mount all the electronics.
