    df 29 on 4s2p?

I am running 2x2s lipos now and my boat is good but was considering going to a dual 4s pack setup.I want to know if I will get more speed as i am effectively doubling the batt. weight and runtimes will go up too correct? Or should I just invest in some more batteries that are 2s with a higher c rating and call it a day? its in a df29 with a 7xl and t180 esc on a x445 prop

It's not going to draw any more amps, the extra runtime might cause heat buildup issues. All you are doing is adding capacity, not voltage.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

The 50c 5400 packs are whoppers to start with....................you must have some pretty good run time. 2p will not get you any more speed..........the batts are more than up to the task of providing the amps the motor wants.

Driftah, by going with a 2p setup using the x445 and a 7xl you'll get more run time but with the extra weight you will loose some speed and create more heat and run higher amps. I run mine on 4s1p with a 8xl using a m445 and a 200 amp esc and I'm spiking at 140 amps. I'd stay with the 4s1p setup to be safe.
