    wild cat needs taming

ok i have had this boat in the water a few times, the last time i was able to do some adjusting, the first i had the batts to the back of the boat which gives me 30% cg and strut was 3/16 above sponson and prop was x445 and parallel to the bottom, the boat wanted to ride on the prop with the boat out of the water i could not get a WOT pass

round 2- i put on a x442 moved the strut up to 3/8 pushed the batts foward as far as they go which is not alot, alittle better i was able to get a few WOT passes but sometime had to feather the gas to help it, speed i guess 28-30 mph i have a gps but forgot .....next time, i just got my wife a sweet canon camera that takes video as well so maybe wednesday i could have a video i know its had to diagnose without seeing it in action

the tape on the boat shows the cg the arrow to the aft is batts all to the back and the foward arrow batts to the front

oh i angled the strut to push the nose down a little mid run did it help i dont know

    what is my next move?

As for Cg I have used anything between 27% and 33% for cats and especially in my big cat 31% seems to be the sweet spot.
Strut height is another factor and then come strut angle.

Like you I have had a cat (my mini 18") ride the prop and it is a hoot until it is upside down......again.

Setting up a cat is a lot of fun and a fair bit of trial and error ( upside down) but the results are always worth it.
For me riggers are easier to setup and are faster but cats are very entertaining and satisfying to get right.
      See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

ok i had the boat out and made no changes since last run, as wild as the boat runs. it was fun driving it after the first flip and it didnnt sink i just let it rip and had a good time with it with 2 more recoverys

today i was on a mission to move the batts farther foward and the only way was to dig out the foam out of both sponsons in a tight space with not the right tools- about 2 hours later it is complete. i am able to get as much as 37% cg if need be

i will start with the strut 1/4" of above sponson and flat again with x442
