Hanspeter has released his new HPR010 Mono based on the Mystic cat. It is 45" and has steps. Great candidate for twins. There is a thread with pictures.

As long as you get the drives as close as possible, and especially at that size, I don't know why you couldn't make any boat a twin!!!

Ill be doing a twin build on one of my own Arrow hulls,a customer maidened his last week and first time on the water it hit 65.6 mph with a 29 cc zenoah, hull has the potential to be fassst, shes 57" long so will handle chop too, based on my apache bottom cut down with a new top.Bare hull weighs 7-8lb depending on what layup i use.I plan on trying twin t 600 outrunners 880 kv 6s lipos, see how she runs and go from there.

was wondering if a 50" aeromarine Apache would be boat enough to handle this pair? The boat has room on the back for the stingers, rudder and trim tabs. AM will lay it up in a light form for me also.

I am using 2 T600 1400KV outrunners on 6s2p in my converted Insane 45" mono.

I have yet to set it in the water due to rain and we can not get out to the lake due to ground conditions. :-(

will get ppics attached after I get home from work late tonight.

              hope this works
the boat in the avatar is the one I converted over to FE.
It had a CMB 90 in it.

Great can you provide a link to the water cooled mounts for the outrunner motors??
Also did you use 3/16 or 1/4 inch cables?

Also, I have a new never used or drilled Rico 47" offshore. Would that hull work for this project??

Here is the link to the hull

                  another link to it

                    am using 3/16 flex shafts.

for the rico boat I would use the lower KV T600's.
around 1000KV. use highvoltage on them. I am using 6s2p for power.

the mounts are sold here on OSE.
they are the ones used for the 540 motors.
                    they work great

Ok I have a lot to learn but why not the 1740kv on 4 or 5 s instead?? My thought was to use 4s which would produce almost 26k rpms/ motor and prop up with larger props rather than go into the 30+k range and use smaller props.

it is just that Rico is alot bigger hull compared to my Insane mono.

If you kept it LIGHT, it might get you by.

this is just my opinion is all. nothing set in stone.

shoot, give it a try and if it does not live up to your wants, then go with a lower KV motor on higher voltage then.
ya never know with these things that for sure. :-)

Lower kv will run cooler and spin a larger prop is what i was told ?,im using 880 kv motors on mine but this is a bigger boat but that said it only weighs 7 lb or will when i make it,might be able to save a little more weight on the layup but dont want to compromise strength.Im only looking for good scale speeds nothing record breaking just yet lol.I dont see any reason you cant use twins on any boat arround 40-48".
