Well here is what NAMBA says about their coverage:
"This coverage is primary coverage, so you do not have to look first to your homeowner's policy for protection as is the case with some of the other boating organizations. In addition, it is individual insurance rather than site insurance, which protects you no matter where you are running, not just at pre-approved lakes and ponds, as with some of the other organizations. Of course, keep in mind that you are also expected to be complying with all local and state laws and restrictions. If you are running a boat on a lake on which you are trespassing you may not be covered."
"All members in good standing will be covered at “sponsored, scheduled, and supervised activities.” This means the coverage is good at sanctioned and club races. IMPBA insurance does cover boaters during open water and practice sessions as long as you are following the safety procedures outlined through the IMPBA, and such events take place on an IMPBA insured body of water only. IMPBA’ s policy is considered a primary policy and would cover any accidents or property damage that may occur on an IMPBA insured body of water."
Even if you do have homeowner's, it is primary (NAMBA) and covers you anywhere as long as you are not trespassing, etc. That is a good deal in my book.
I agree Bill that is a good deal for anyone. There are always a lot of people around the lake we run. I have always worried about a runaway boat or my driving at these faster BL motor speeds. I will be getting one soon. Are there more perks to a membership?
