    Triton airscoops

Although the Toysport Triton is a great looking boat I felt the rear deck looked a bit bare, so the other night I got creative and carved myself a pair of engine airscoops from soft pine.
They are copied from the scoops on the Fountain Pier 57 race boat.
    Whatcha think ?
My pet painter has gone on holiday so they will have to stay bare until mid January.
    Graham.

Nice job. I can't even draw two circles the same size.

          I like it!

            Glad you like em.
Maybe 'carved' was the wrong word, it conjures up the image of some old fart sitting on his front porch with a corncob pipe and a pocket knife.
I haven't quite reached that stage yet, but some of my fellow club member might disagree !
The 'manufacturing' process simply involved drawing the outline on a piece of wood and then cutting to shape with a small handsaw and files, and then lots of sanding with coarse sandpaper.
I enjoy making stuff like this.
