check out the vac-u-boat site ron.. the dimensions of their cracker are on there... i have one, fun boat for sure... i think they are 20 or 21" by 8 or so...
There are two sizes, 1/10 and 1/6. The smaller ones run ~21"; but the larger ones are around 27" to 30" and are just made for P-limited power. I raced the 1/10th scale CBoxes for years with 6 NiMH cells and an ROAR 05 motor. They were fun but were NOT a beginner's boat. They were so difficult to drive without flipping that only 'experts' were able to win races. I would expect the 1/6th scale boats to be much better in this regard, especially set up with surface drives like the gas guys do. That alone makes a BIG difference.

We have been running 1/6 scale Crackers for over a year, we run them in our club, the 2010 FE nats and also at the winter warm ups in Arizona this winter. It alsoo looks like there will be a class running at the 2011 FE nats this year. The hulls
we have been running are scaled down 1/6 Versions, following APBA crackerbox hull rules as a guideline. the huls sizes range from 28 to 32 inces in length. We run them on P-Limited powers systms which is about all the hulls can handle effectively. They are a lot of fun to race and looks like the class is starting to take off. Once we get a few bugs worked out we will be proposing a 1/6 Crackerbox class in NAMBA.
