    Boat stands How to make?

Hi anyone have any good info on how to make nice boat stands without emptying the wallet?

I am sick of the tiny ones they give you with the boats there so low the boats rudders always scrape the ground and stuff!

    THANKS

        SweetZ,

I've also seen a few people use some nice balsa wood to and thick wood supports to make some stands... That would be another cheap alternative but the PVC piping is the way to go for me

I usually make mine out of a home made wooden C channel the desired length/width/height.
Coat of varnish and some pipe insulation on the top and your done.
Use some knotty pine and route some nice corners and they look great for display as well.
Drill a couple of holes on each side near the top and thread some heavy string to make a carrying handle that wraps around the sides of the boat to hold it in place.
A black and decker work mate makes a great stable collapsable work table at the pond. Puts the boat at a nice working height.
A piece of indoor outdoor carpeting under it makes it easy to find what you just dropped.
Glad I can park my truck 15 feet from the running spot!
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Piece on the bottom and two sides. Just like a piece of iron c channel. like this. I_I
Cat, mono, hydro, same style works for most hull types.

WOW Thanks guy's i just got back from toying with 4 boats!!
I need to make taller stands why do they even bother giving you the stock stands the least they could have done was make them 2 times as high so nothing has a chance of hitting the ground!!!

Looks like the PVC is a cheap way to go about it.

                  THANKS
