    300 amp Eagletree inductive pickup

Saw the 300 amp pickup at R2 hobbies. 113.60$ US, also the GPS unit for it!
    Cool stuff!
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

I bought one earlier this year. I've recorded just over 300, but I don't have anything to compare it to for accuracy. You do know you'll need one of the USB recorders for it, you cannot use the elogger.

I'm just in the shopping phase, I don't need anything high for what I run, Just read a thread earlier where people where wondering about the 300 amp pickup.
Thats good to note for people who need something like this though.
            Thanks.

Are you in the US? If so, why not buy directly from Eagle Tree? It's a bit more but shipping is probably a LOT less. Then you can get factory service here also!

I was on that page earlier! I didn't realize you could buy direct. I saw the dealer listings.
                Thanks!
I have to admit I was planning on buying from OSE not R2, I noticed they carried the 300 amp unit while Steve currently doesn't.
I buy very few things overseas, I'd rather pay a bit more but have some recourse if something doesn't go right. OSE, Zippkits, Kinetec, all stand up guys I've had great luck dealing with. Well it's not luck it's called customer service!

I have heard of a way to make the 150a elogger into a 300a elogger, but I can't find where I saw it....the basic idea was to add jumper wires from each of the + and - to "by pass" the elogger while still having the normal wires connected to the logger. This would split the current in half thus allowing you to double what the logger reads.
                  24 R/C vehicles and still counting...What budget?

I have been running this for months 192 amps cont. 283 amps peak.
Here are the instructions I posted on RC Groups in the ET vendor section.

You can also, on the wire lead ET, loop 12 ga. wire from esc side directly to batt. side bypassing the board entirely for both the + and - . This will bypass current, about 1/2, and let it run much cooler. You now have a 300 amp logger!

Next you need to access a Clamp on amp meter, clamp it around the battery leads and run the system up for 15 seconds or so logging the data and compare the amp readings between the them. The ET will have a reading of about 1/2 half of the clamp on meter.
Now connect your ET to the computer, go to "Advanced programing" click on "Calibrate volt and amps" and enter the actual readings in the appropriate boxes and save.

That all there is to it! Welcome to the 300 amp club!

                      Interesting stuff.

I didnt plan on stocking the 300amp because it doesn't work with the loggers I sell.

Thanks! Thats the one I read! Can you get some pics of your setup so we can get a clear idea on how you did it. or a sketch would work too.

Steven, I wish they would make a higher amp logger, but I guess this would work well as a sub.
