Make sure to clean the taping area with denatured alchohol or some degreaser. Easy to get grease from cable lube and it will not stick good. I also like the clear electrical cause it "curves" well.

CLEAR HOCKEY TAPE! Steven sells it here on OSE. Awesome stuff and doesn't leave any residue. I've tried the clear electrical but it doesn't hold nearly as well.

Where do you get clear electrical tape? Does in come in the 1" wide stuff? I used to have a roll of vinyl tape that was maybe 1.5" wide and it worked better than anything, but it was black so it looked terrible.
I use the hockeyt tape too, which seems to work well on hot sunny days, but not as well when teh temps are cooler. It just doesnt stick well when its cold.

i just use black electrical tape, sticks very well, even when a little wet, never a problem and best of all wont peel the clear off some of those crappy china hulls finish like the apparition. I've seen the hockey sock tape peel clear off the hulls before.

Green electrical tape. I tried black hockey tape, that wasn't good. Black electric tape works if kept warm. I tried clear tape from LHS and after one usage, it remains on nail .

Electrical tape stretches around corners or bends very well, Hockey tape dosnt. I have both & prefer electrical tape. Another reason im not keen on hockey tape is where its 50% thicker than electrical tape water seeps in between the tape where it over laps its self on the corners of the hatch, You get a clear white mark along the over lap joint where the tape is not stuck.
