Using a stuffing tube as a stinger ?

i have tried this in 2 boats and it works great

is there anything wrong with doing this ?

As long as its well braced exiting the transom and not too long it works fine. Wouldn't hurt if you used a double tube to add some strength.

That common practice using this type of shaft assembly in Mono1 & Mono2 race boats, Shaft comes out around 3" past the transom to the bearing. Martin.
