    cheap data logger??

Any suggestions on a decently priced data logger?? I hear all about these eagle tree things, but seems like you need to buy so many pieces of it and ends up costing more than your boat?? i'm not to familiar with these things, i'm just looking to find a way to know my amp draws, and there over 130 so the turnigy watt meter i had blew. If anyone can suggest something or post a link to one i would greatly appreciate the help, thanks

Hyperion make a good one , with all the attachments , was just under 200 bucks & it will log up to 300 AMPS , i think the eagle tree will only log up to 150 amps

There is a version of eagle tree that will record 300 amps. I just looked at the specs for the Hyperion and the one thing I see missing is GPS, so you won't be able to record speed. Also it will record up to 300 amps for 5 secs depending on ambient temp. And the Hyperion will record at 4 samples per sec where the elogger v4 will record at 50 samples per sec.

      Max Current 5 seconds*
      300 A
      Max Current 30 seconds*
      150 A
      Max Continuous Current*
      75 A

I'm not concerned about gps, because i have a forerunner 201, just want to be able to track amp draw so i can set my boats up perfectly.

What components of eagle tree do i need exactly??

What amps are you anticipating and what other than amps are you concerned about?

anticipating 150 amps, not really concerned about much else, i have infrared temp sensor and gps, so really just want to no amps so i'm not frying esc's.

What ever logger you go for , it will be the best investment ., against frying ESCs , since i got mine i havent smoked a esc .. i was supprised to see how many amps i was pulling with some set ups . my 1515 1y in my UL1 was pulling 205 AMPs getting up on plane . i would of never guessed it was pulling that many amps without a data logger .

If what you stated you only needed current is true then yes, you will need only connectors. To see data at the field you would need the power panel otherwise you can download once you get to a computer. My personal experience is it will record up to about 180 amps and it will not fry. I had one time a battery lead came unsoldered, but the unit wasn't affected. Eagle Tree posts a lot here, http://www.rcgroups.com/eagle-tree-systems-443/
