You can buy the flush mount ones from the OSE store or make your own out of brass tubing. In my experience between the two,the homemade ones work better.

        water pickup

It's a one off 41 cat, twin, probably a mtc ak rudder between 2 stuffing tubes but I want to do 4 pickups one for each motor and each esc.

Buy the dual pickup from OSE or make your own. Id make your own if it were me. They pick up the water better.

Are you talking about the dual block type that fit in the bottom of the hull, cut a hole in the hull and glass them in ??

I have always used a prop spray pickup with the exception of my big rigger that has a pitot tube in front of the rudder, and even that may get changed to a spray type in its next refit.
They have advantages and disadvantages but for me they just work. !!
I have a few air-cooled power systems too.

Here are few real quick snaps I took, sorry for the poor pics, these are of the setup on the back of my new rigger, it is on the bench so easy to shoot pics

The basic idea is like the old J-tube setups that were popular before wedge rudder pickups. I either make my own or modify bought flat plate rudders so rudder pick up is not for me.

The water is blasted off the prop rooster tail into the angled pickup, with a bit of tuning I can get my water flow just right with minimal drag. I will always accept some drag for water intake as it is cheaper than a new speedie.

Like I said before, this may not be the best but, it is effective and works for me on Riggers and Cats
