    Why no Feigao 580L motors?

I noticed Steve does not stock these large can 580L Feigaos anymore...why?

I have a new 6L version (2154kv) I wanted to try in my Whiplash.

My guess would be because of the motors inefficiency and heat problems. From my knowledge, these are very similar if not the same motor as a KB45. These are amp hogs and get very hot very quickly even with a good cooling system. My advise is to steer clear of these motors. This is just my opinion of the 580L. I know from experience with the KB that they do in fact run hot and inefficient. Hope this helps.

They were real dogs! Overheated badly and would demagnetize, freeze the bearings, etc. Steven also dropped the KB45 motors.

I had one and Steven replaced it when it crapped out on the first run. The replacement did the same thing. I was using a prop that shouldn't have been a problem for a motor this size.

You might want to try to unload the thing.

Probably as good a reason as any in reality. Sadly the 580L suffered from reasons such as demagg'n of the rotor, rotors coming apart, too much heat in the stator from in-eff, the list goes on. Whatever the real reason, OSE made a smart move to a new motor series that so far has a better track record and performance.

I also purchased the better BOCA bearings to use with this motor. This newer version also has the carbon fiber wrapped rotor magnet. I will give motor a try WTF.
