Rio Test Good news Bad news

Well I am just in from the lake and freezing my stones off. I will start right off with the bad news. This is totally unlike me but...I forgot the freaking camera. Now on to the good stuff. This boat is a wave crushing monster !!!!!!!!!!!! Conditions today where crap. NE wind around 15mph witch created 6 to 8 inch chop. I put the best set of GP3300s I have in and moved them forward to the point the end of the pack was even with the gear drive. With the snot out there I figured weight forward would be the best...& I was correct. The stock Traxxas Villain prop is still installed. I walked it out about 2 feet in a brand new pair of redwing boots..lol and tossed it in the deeper water. I have a suspect Ujoint installed so I nursed it up on plane for about 4 feet. The prop took a bite and she was gone. I have a pretty good eye and Id say 20 to 25 mph but that wasn’t what I was so happy about. The hull shreds chop & not only that it looks awesome while doing it. The bow of the boat would pierce through most of the bigger stuff and the hull maintained an almost perfect attitude while in flight or hitting chop on odd angles. I noticed no chine walk or torque roll. Now the down side is turning. The current setup will spin out with very little rudder input. What was kewl was how it would do a 180 plowing the stern under water all the way up to the canopy:D. if I stayed on the power the entire boat will shoot straight out of the water and land back on plane...NEET.. It looks as tough I will need some type of turn fin setup to counter this spinning out. Trim tabs how ever are not needed what so ever. This short but very productive has also proven that a brushless system in this boat is not needed. After 7 minutes of wide open bashing the motor was 100 and the esc 50...lol. I had a blast and learned the RcHydros Emperor is great unit!!. I will be picking up a 17 turn trinity monster max with the aluminum epic endbell, ordering my decals from Tim & calling this boat complete. On 2s-2p and that motor 30mph will not be a problem. Plenty fast for this lake basher:D. I will get Video next test I promise!!!!

Cool.. Video will be nice...How did the water outlets work? Did it have enough pressure to shoot the water out very far?
Nothing like keeping you lipos warm and your prop wet!!

Thanks guys I am way pleased.

Did it have enough pressure to shoot the water out very far?
Far enough that I can clearly see the flow. Worked out perfect I may get back out next weekend.

              Cool Tom!!!
I wonder if the forward CG was the cause of the spinouts??

You may be on to somthing there Mr Smock. We have weather headed in but as soon as it breaks I will slap a set of pack in and against the stern for a test. I had a good 3 inches left I can go back. Wait till I get some video up...When its sittin in the water still...the sterns settled just like a full scale boat..Bad @ss man:D.
