2s rigger or hydro's, kits or plans?

Been out for a while but would like build a boat around a 2s 5000, I have a bunch of them, anyway was wondering if there are any good hulls out there for a 2s battery? I like the vac u pickle but would rather run 2s than 4s for $ purposes of setting up the rest of the boat. plus would like to be able to run on smaller ponds as well, I also have a 550 size 4000kv motor I could use if it suits it well.

The plans for this are supposed to be out in a couple weeks, the kit I believe in April (check Zippkits website). I would wait for it.

thats close, but would rather run a little bigger, 500 size motor if possible. Pluss I would rather run the 2s packs I have, otherwise I have a bunch of 3s 2200's. And a couple of 3s 4000's

Look at the plans for the JAE 12 rigger, you need to move the boom tubes to fit in a battery pack, this would make a pretty cool 2s boat with a decent sized motor.
Need a good esc though! A boat like this would be an amp hog no matter what brand of motor you run. Need some really good high C rate packs as well.
You are trading volts for amps with this kind of setup. 1/2 the volts = double the amps for the same watts of power from the motor.
I've kicked around the idea of building one but running a small 4s pack instead of a bigger 2s pack. Just be easier on the equipment.
I think I like the idea of the 16.5" one for a 2s boat, smaller and lighter everything, less amp draw, could easily use a 60 amp esc on the little one. Along with an under 20$ outrunner!

Our club runs an N-2 Sport Hydro class with cheap 2S packs, Feigao 7L motors (3511 Kv) and x440 props. Speeds are in the mid-40s and they are perfect for smaller ponds. Hulls are anything in the 24"-26" range including Dark Horses, H&M Vipers, etc. The Vac-U-Pickle would work too if built light. Your 4000 Kv motor would work with a smaller prop like an x435. Speeds would be pretty high for a small pond with an x440 prop as would amp draw. You don't need a high amp ESC if you keep the speeds within reason, several members run Hacker 70 and 90 amp controllers.

With the amp draw I might just build it 3s, My 3s packs are only a couple mm taller than my 2s packs, and I will only loose a couple of amps that the packs can push, My 3s are 4000mah and 40c so they should be capable of 160 amps, if I run a lower kv motor than a 2s setup speeds should be close to the same with a lower amp draw right? I have a couple of 550 size motors to use, a 4400, 3500 and a 3000kv. I am trying to go more with reliability thatn top speeds.

I was also thinking of trying out one of my mamba Sidewinder SC setups, the motor is a Basically a 1410 1y 3800 kv motor, if I can find the right hull to run it in it would make a cheap setup, you can buy the combo for under $100 shipped.

Geez I was going to pop up hear but a Benjamin for a hull and hardware, I need a bunch of little china men helping me. I love 2S and 3S setups and have a lot of little boats in Styrene, CF and FG to have fun with.

Both of my Dark Horse hulls would work with that 1410. May have to put one together just to play with.

Hard to build hulls here and try to compete with the Chinese prices. That said, the 24" DF Vortex is a great little hull.

Its $100 for the motor/esc combo, not the boat. I love your boats Randy, I had one a while back, and as much as I have a ton of china batteries and escs/motors, ect, I would rather run something proven, or build myself.

Here are the hulls I think are right around what I am looking for, its a pretty broad range of boats though. My first choice because I have always loved them is the H&M Exess 1, if I could find a used one somewhat cheap. then these in no particular order

Since you posted about the Volcanic Splash, it next generation is the Mini Zephyer much better for todays power. It was in the link above. There is a lot of difference in the size of the 2S Rigger and Mini Zephyer closer is the Zephyer 27. All three are shown below.

that looks nice, what size pack are you running in it? also how is the side to side cg, with the lipo and rx pack?

also what are you running motor/esc? I can see its a ballistic but cannot tell anything other than that.
