    Miss Bud Conversion Help

    Hello,

I have a ProBoat Miss Bud hull. I am tired of jacking with nitro
motors and am thinking of converting to electric. I live in a small town
and can not run nitro at the pond in the park. Must drive an hour.
I am not looking to build a speed record holder. I prefer less speed and
longer runs. How long a runs can I expect from a 3 cell, 5000mak Lipo?
What would be a good motor and esc for my boat? Are the hobbyking
Turnegy motors any good? Any help appriciated!!

    Thanks,
    Darrell

i converted mine with the geico electronics and made my own mount for motor, worked out fine....the geico setup would work fine on 4s and give you low temps and decent run times, you can see my snap-on in swap shop on my conversion if that helps, i wouldnt run any higher on batterys on the stock set up from the geico but should be a good ride

      Thanks Dano,

I am wondering what kind of watts that motor puts out.
I have a Turnigy 36-50-16S 2200KV that is good to 800 watts. I am wondering if it would be any
      good for the project?

      Thanks,
      Darrell

I think thats the motor a buddy of mine has in his SV, could be a 36/56 though, ran it half of last season, seems to do quite well, temps were good, Higher KV than his stock SV motor was so I think he went down a prop size or two.
For what you pay for them I think they are a pretty good motor.
For a little bit more money I'd think about using a Tacon 4 pole motor, I think it's made in the same plant Leopard motors are.
They are in the 50$ range vs about 25 for the HK, then you would save a bit on shipping, as the Tacon can be bought in the states.
Check out Hobbypartz.com people have been having great luck ordering form them, great selection of brushless motors.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

          Thanks Siberianhusky,

I checked out Hobbypartz. They have a sale.
Tacon 3650 Brushless Motor 2230KV for 25.00 Cheaper than hobbyking with shipping.
This motor is rated for 900 watts. Maybe a bit hot?

          Thanks
