Glad your good Baked! I saw some pics from Santa Cruz, CA...I can't believe they got hit too! I am origianally from Monterey, CA, not too far from there and my sis lives on the peninsula, but they did not get much there, thankfully.....

I wonder what caused the whirlpool? Maybe the sea floor opening up and the water rushing in? They say the island of Honshu moved 8 feet! There also was an earthquake of 7.2 on 3-8-2011 and another biggie after the second one. I guess that is why they call it "the ring of fire". 8.9 is huge, I don't know what the Richter scale goes to but at some point, it would be complete devastation and I think this was close to it.
