you guys are fuggin awesome man. im thinking of leopards because reliable and inexpensive. ill be happy with 70mph. so all in all, whats the best leopard kv,,batteries,, and prop that i should get? IS THIS HULL WATER TIGHT?
what kind of speeds can a delta force sniper 45 handle?

I havent seen a Leopard hit 70 yet but that doesnt mean its not possible. Im putting a 1090kv on 8s2p (have 9s2p if the hull handles 8s well enough) in my 50" mono. There's a build thread in the build section. You could do that one or the 730kv on 10-12s. Im not a fan of running smaller cell counts in the larger boats (like the case would be with the 1340kv). You just end up with too high of an Amp draw. The 2215 (1020kv) in the video I linked usually came in with in the 90's or 100's for temp. I dont have ANYTHING else that runs that cool, and that boat hauled the mail.

how much speed do you think your going to get on your 50" mono with that setup? btw this is my 1st mono. my very 1st boat was a proboat 112 hydro. (nitro) then ul1 then proboat 1.8 (electric conversion) i ran that on a leopard 5692 1000kv 8s2p x452 prop. ran nice and cool temps till my swordfish got a drop of water on it.I havent seen a Leopard hit 70 yet but that doesnt mean its not possible. If the #2 pencil is the most popular, why is it still #2?

I have been knocking around the idea of, building a 39-45" delta force using the leopard 5692 motor and 8s. I see a few 10 and 12s setups...I have many 4s lipos, so that would be ideal.
I would be happy with 60mph..
Guys that run the big mono's, anysuggestions?Comment

I really have no idea what the 50" mono is going to do, it's a gasser hull and is not only longer but just all around bigger. Its really a HUGE difference in size compared to my 40" DF copy. It really depends on how well it handles. Gets up out of the water well and is stable, I'll push it. I have a bigger, heavier boat with a cheaper motor, but I have A LOT better batteries this time. I had 190A/380A burst capability before, adn I know I was running out of battery. Only 25C, and 12awg wire between 3 sets of batteries. This time I have 460A/920A burst capacity, with very short 10awg wire between 2 sets of batteries. My caps were getting hot in the last setup while everything else was cool.how much speed do you think your going to get on your 50" mono with that setup? btw this is my 1st mono. my very 1st boat was a proboat 112 hydro. If it doesnt go 60, something's wrong. I will shoot for 70 if it's stable enough on the water.Comment

hey keith we totally agree on this... lol....I havent seen a Leopard hit 70 yet but that doesnt mean its not possible. yeh brad a 1340kv 7s setup you can get away with on some lighter hulls... and slightly smaller too... but being a BIG mono and fairly heavy, if you are going to run a smaller motor like a 5692 you would want to run the lowest KV you can find and max it on voltage... you would then have more torque and less amps... which you will need with this boat.... it is a amp hog mono, and the 5692 is gonna be working as it is...Comment

hmm, ok so 5692 with lowest kv possible. im thinking of 10s2p. no?If the #2 pencil is the most popular, why is it still #2?

I think RIP is right... I didn't mean the 5692 was optimal... I think it would be somewhat stressed in this hull, especially if you want to really scream... its a big mono... I just sold my DF 45" sniper... I was going to put a 2028 Castle in it... I think for the money that is bar none the best setup... I would run it on 9s, and with a swordfish 240hv esc as another low budget option (hey low budget build is $1500-$2000 in a big mono)...lol..... I think that with a x457 would be a good, fast, and reliable setup.... can probably go to a x460 easy enough after you get her ride attitude/cg properly adjusted...Comment

But what about the guys running the 1717 on 6s and reaching high 50's low 60's in the same hull.....Ya its a heavy hull, but the 1717 is a much smaller motor than the 5692. The higher the kv the less cells the less weight....Or am i just a rookie still here......hey keith we totally agree on this... lol....

100+ should be within reach this year. Mark F ran a 2230 on 10s through the traps over 92 I believe. He had 100 mph potential, but motors and hardware had some problems. Also at that time 300A controllers were not available. Now we have 10kW motors, 300A controllers and 45C batts.

so the only motors that are able to push these hulls are $300+ motors? how much does this hull weigh? im pretty sure theres a leopard that will get it in the upper 60's at least. it sure be great to get this sleek hull over 70mph but i got bills to pay lolI think RIP is right... Brad they are doing the 1717 in a 39" copy hull like yours...not in a 45" sniper... different beasts all together.. I have owned both.... the Sniper is alot bigger more substantial boat... heavier layup for sure as well...But what about the guys running the 1717 on 6s and reaching high 50's low 60's in the same hull.....Ya its a heavy hull, but the 1717 is a much smaller motor than the 5692.
