help: want to make sub-hatch with bubble

as the title states. I tried using 2mm vinyl sheet at first, and heating it over a form, but the vinyl didnt seem to like it. can i just use a piece from say... a rubbermaid clear storage container? whats a good material to use that is easily found? thanks

use construction foam and coat with epoxy and glass cloth. when cured, you can hollow out the foam and viaolala you have a bubble.

If foam is used, an easy way to get rid of it afterwards - - dissolve it with acetone.

I'm not so certain as to what a sub hatch is, but it sounds like something that would very easily be vacuum formed out of plastic. I make cowlings and other stuff that way and all you need to do is make a make a plug out of solid balsa or other wood that is shaped the way you want the end product to look. At that point you can use styrene or ABS or if you want it clear, you can use clear plastic to vacuum form it. Email me at [email protected] if you have any questions or need help with the project.
