i lost my nut,ha ha . my prop nut ,is it a safe idea to use fuel line till i get a new one?

amazingly I had a member tell me he uses fuel line all the time even on race boats. I have never lost a prop or prop nut. I would not trust fuel line. I feel a 30.00 investment is too much to have a .01 piece of tube holding it.
