    Graupner Systems Cat

Im bidding out a pink systems cat on the bay. It's ARR with hull, strudder HW and motors and a couple of cheap 7 cell packs. I was just wondering if you guys ever ran one?

I just want it to build up cheap and play with. it has the Dual grauper 600 motor gear box with 2 600 motors. I was hoping maybe I can get it to do 30MPH with some good johnson type 600 size sealed motors.

    Any thaughts?

I have two of them. This cat has a small hatch and not a lot of heigth to work in. The bottom of the hull has built in trim tabs. Might want to rework it for maximum speed. I had a 10XL with a trans in it on 18 cells. Was running mid to upper 30's on sport NiMHs. Used to be a very popular light ABS electric hull.

Does this ABS Graupner Systems Cat bring back any memories?

I say bid and win that baby Chris. Wouldent it be kewl to have a retro boat class in witch all the hulls had to be 10 years or older & we had to use brushed power systems??? I say yes.

I love the looks of that Graupner Systems Cat. Are you going to keep or shave down the raised rear section of the sponsons? From the factory, it's raised to get it on plane, but if you're going to push into the 40mph territory, you may want to flatten the raised trim part. Show some pics when you're done. Good Luck.

I pulled the 10XL out of the other one. I am making two boats just a like for the kids to run.

It is a classic with very little room to work in it. I also have a black one that was my first build from scratch. It is an ABS hull with a wood skeleton. They will always be special to me. I agree they are not the prettiest hulls.

I think it's because the cockpits are so far apart?
