    1512 Water Jacket question

Been told you have to modify a 1515 water jacket to fit the Castle 1512. How is it done? Help if i have a picture to look at LOL. Thanks guys.

Basically, you file a knotch, the width of the motor leads boot, to a depth of about .060 to .070" deep. That allows the jacket to slide back past the boot which would keep it from any further rearward travel. I got my CC/Neu 1512 with a water jacket from FighterCat and thats how he did. I have seen others do it the same way.

But you can just buy a new correctly sized 1512 motor cooler directly from HRC. He sells them. I think OSE did carry them for awhile but there was an issue with can diameters and thats why Steve quit carrying them. Maybe one of the guys will post a picture cause they are worth a thousand words!

I'm sure one of the guys will post one soon. I dont have a pic to post. One of FighterCat's build thread had a picture of it. Here is the link to the HRC jacket. http://www.hrc-mfg.com/id17.html

It was worth a shot LOL....Basically i just need to knotch out the jacket around where the motor wire exit the can but not to much because of the lip where the seal sits so the can will fit?

search the swap shop someone was selling a 1512 with a modified 1515 jacket a week ago, and had pics. looked like he just notched it where the wires came out
