    Toysport Syncron/Triton Owners

I have a question for Syncron/Triton owners that have the Toysport hardware setup.

How is your water cooling from the stock Toysport rudder pickup working? I rarely see water exiting from the water cooling outlet on my Syncron hull, do you?

I am used to seeing water continuously spray out of the cooling outlet based on my boats that have a built in water pickup in the rudder.

The reason I ask is because I was thinking of supplementing my Syncron by installing an additional water pickup under the hull.

Have you checked the rudder shaft for obstructions?

I could never tell you, the water comes out on the inside of the course I run on. But I can say that heat has not been an issue on either of my boats.

            bump...another Q for Triton owners...

Looking at Toth's Triton assembly instructions and at alot of the European guys' setups I noticed the angle of the turn fin isn't 90 degrees to the V of the transom (which is normal for Vees), but parallel to the rudder.
Is it possible that the thinking there is to align the fin 90 degrees to the flat section on the keel? Would that make the boat rotate on that ride pad better at speed? or are they just doing it wrong?

I had an image, but I can't find it right now...

I could be wrong but I think it is to help reduce drag on the straight away. It will get into the water when you are turning and then does what it is supposed to do.

but if you were trying to reduce drag on the straight, a fin angled at 90 degrees to the V of the transom would avoid contact until the boat banks into the turn.
The fin running parallel to the rudder would seem to touch the surface more when going straight.
I think steven's Synchron in his avatar has the fin pointing straight down rather than at a 90 degree angle to the transom vee.

It seems as though the turn carving characteristics would be heavily affected by the different placements...???

                    Hi Ctonez
Have you got set up instructions from Toysport for the Triton ?
I got nothing with mine and am just starting to set it up so would be interested in a copy if possible.
                    Regards
                    Graham.

I have 4 of the boats and not one of them came with any set up instructions and I am afraid to go to the web site anymore.

I bought the hull second-hand, but the original owner had a set of the setup plans. I'll see what I can do to get them electronic...
I purchased a brand new Triton hull from fastelectrics about a year ago, and got no plans with that one...
not sure where the original owner of my current boat got the plans.

                          Hi Ctonez
                          Thanks for the offer.
Warning - Dont go anywhere near the Toysport website as it has been attached by virus for months.
Last time I tried, only a couple of days ago , I received a warning that my computer could be damaged if I proceeded, so I got out of there real fast and ran a virus scan.
