Leaving esc plugged in between runs

Anyone know if between runs say 5-10 minuets before you run again, Can it be bad for the esc being left connected. Rather than untaping the hatch to unplug or will it not cause any potential damage at all to the esc. Tx obviously left on as well. Thanks.

i dont think it would be bad, but you should really be checking temps between runs.

I always take off the hatch to check temps, check for leaks, or any other problems that may have cropped up. I also set this on the boat between runs, I borrowed the idea from Doug Smock when he was at the IMPBA district race last year.

      Thanks Doug !!!

I had some problems with speed controllers doing a thermal shutdown if I taped them too soon before a heat during last summer. No damage to the controller. Once it cooled off, it worked fine.

I also read on the gas boards the Futaba FASST recievers can be sensitive to the heat. Though many gas boats have their exhaust pipes runinging very close to the radio box.

Looks like Chuck found a good use for NiMh packs.

I would highly recommend you throw a towel on the prop, or turn your TX off if your using a spread spectrum radio with its built in fail safe activated, unless you can confirm no one(man/kids/pets) will possibly touch your TX. Seriouly.
