In your opinion what is the best RTR boat for a newby to get into the hobby?

Hi guys my name is Chris, I'am new to the rc boat world and could use some of your veteran opinions. I had a spartan on order but I am cancelling the order due to all of the problems with the esc, cooling and design. I like the looks of the venom King of shaves C1 and the Pro boat miss geico, but i don't have anyone to lead me in the right direction on this, and I will be buying a boat in the very near future. I hope to hear from all of you soon. thank you.

Can't really go wrong with the Geico, or the upcoming Cat from Aquacraft...probably the best boat that can be easily upgraded is the SV-27..depends on what you like and the conditions you want to run in....they are all more or less the same price as well.

      Good advice from Doby....
The C1 has had it's fair share of issues as well and Venom's customer serivce has been less then professional.... So far best RTR I have owned has been the MG, but the new AQ cat will be in my fleet (new paint scheme for me) and appears to be very VERY promising. I enjoyed my SV a whole WHOLE lot (which is why it is wrecked now ), but for me it's hard to beat the MG.

PB (Horizon Hobby) and Aquacraft's customer service is hard to beat!

If you want a cat......go with the Geico, for a Vee go with a Pursuit.

This pursuit at Kintec already has the big 2200 Leopard and upgraded ESC that most folks eventually go to.......................my Pursuit has been clocked at 45mph with this setup

                  LMAO!!

Another vote for the MG here. Great boat with even better customer care from Horizon Hobby.

Although all the boats mentioned above are excellent choices (sans that MX thing), if you want to save a bit and learn whether you like RC boats, try a Proboat Brushless Shockwave 26. Great starter boat and these use a single battery (LiPo or NiMH) and will run about 30 MPH which is plenty fast enough for a first boat. The single battery and boat set up will save you at least $150 over the Miss Gieco. Be sure to get the free SS prop upgrade and don't overamp the ESC with a massive power source and this boat will be fun for a long time.
