Has anyone bought anything from Hobbyking.com? My buddy tried to buy a couple Lipo's from them, but they would not sell to him because he lives in the states. Is there anyone in the US that has had any dealings with this website?

Almost everyone here has bought from HK including myself. I just bought a 4s lipo last month from them. I never had that problem ordering lipos. Try buying from the US warehouse, cheaper shipping and you will also get it quicker.

Over 30 orders and thousands of dollars to FL and never an issue, from both HK and the newly opened US warehouse.

Huh. Maybe he's doing it wrong? I thought I'd ask the question before placing an order myself. Their prices on Lipo's are very reasonable.

Perhaps hes trying to add things to cart from different warehouses? Or some things if on back order will not let you place the order until they become in stock.....

I just looked at buying a couple lipo's, and it showed they were in the US warehouse, but I would have gotten dinged on $17 for shipping internationally. Am I looking at this wrong?

if you order from a USA warehouse you have to make shure that all the things you order at the same time is also from a USA warehouse. if no you are in fact ordering 2 pacages.

Ah. I think I see. To add an item to my cart I have to click on the American Flag. Shipping went from $17 & change to $10. I see. Awesome! Thanks for the help, fella's.

You also need to make an account first so the system knows your in the US

Also, if you are looking at a particular item for a few minutes, a pop-up window opens offering you the item for a discount. To test this again, I just looked at a Turnigy Monster 2000 ESC selling for $189.99. After about three minutes of staring at the same page, a pop-up opened and offered it for $179.99.

Not sure if this is the problem he was having, but I have had HK site tell me they couldn't ship Lipos because they were restricted for shipping to Canada.

Turns out it was the shipper I had chosen wouldn't ship more than a couple Lipos at a time.

Chose a different shipping option (EMS I think it was) and the transaction went through with no problem.

you really have to be carefull that u press on the american flag or u end up in hong kong
