you did do positive to positive and negative to negative correct? i am hoping you did not connect in series thinking you were doing parallel..it would surely cook if you put 37.0 volts 10s to it by accident..did the motor run for any length of time? just trying to do a little detective work

    thanks

Too big of a hull (what size)? Too much weight? Boat running too wet? Just throwing ideas around.

Feigao are far from being efficient, Leopards are much better if you don't want to try Neu right away.

Also a T600 1400Kv should give you plenty of torque on 5-6S.

But wait for the experts opinion.

From the pics looks like a T180 ESC, I think he would have noticed right away the caps exploding as he connected the batteries...

What kind of connectors are you using??? what size bullets on motor-ESC?? they appear small, 5.5mm bullets or bigger, i would be more than inclined to say this is a direct result of a poor connection between the motor and ESC.

for the record i have ran my 10xl on 6s1p 5000mah with t180, x442 with no problems, hottest temp i have had on motor was 130f, 3 full runs, no issues. using 5.5mm bullets..........................

It might have been just too much amps for the motor to handle, the bullets melting is a good indication of high amps flowing through.

I think a Leopard 4082 might be a better choice, but I'm a newbie myself, so wait for someone with more expertise before you start buying stuff.

Feigao motors are really crappy, I smoked 2 ESCs because of high amp draw.

i dont think the boat being wet had anything to do with it, although you need to adress that and seal up that T180 for the future.

BUT you need a new motor now, so check out the swap shop i have a 1512 1.5y 1800kv with jacket up for grabs, or i'd sell my 10xl as well...........

The feigao xl should be fine for the MM. Guys run L-sized 540 cans in these no prob. I hope you get it worked out. I'm swapping the castle motor out of mine, and was planning on putting a feigao xl in as a replacement. I have the t-600 outrunner as well, it would be a good choice IMO.

                        Same hulll? Also 2x 5S 4000mah packs can add up quite a bit of weight compared to a 6S 5K or 2x 3S 5K.

Dasboata has experience with boats, so I'm assuming it wasn't the driveline binding or anything like that.

Maybe the motor was just bad? It happens.

Mines in an Apparition, 2x3s5000 packs in series, sure the motor could have been faulty thats definately feasable, but those motor-Esc connectors look small, and/or they were faulty i bet.

So maybe the connectors de-soldered because they were small and then made contact to each other?

But then the ESC would be gone as well, no?
