      Ray,
Thanks a lot for the reply! I'm going to cool my motors from the front. I bought water-cooled motor mounts for this purpose. My cat is about 45 inches but it has less space inside, since it's scratch built, with the bulkheads inside. Also thanks for the pictures.
I'm going to use 7S2P A123 packs. Which equals to a 6S lipo, with about 4.5Ah capacity.

What run times can you achieve with your setup?
Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it.

Runtimes are no more than 2.5 minutes.

          Ok! About right, thank you!
Instead of 7S2P I should go with 7S3P config on each side. :) but too much $$$.

i just had 1 of the skywing 190a esc burn up in my pursuit. i was running turnigy 4074 2000kv 4 pole with the metioned esc on 5s2p 4400 mah 40c with x440 prop i got a total of 3 times in the water with the setup the boat was running very well then all of a sudden pop. it looks as if on the negative batt post the board was never soldered solid and it surely didnt unsolder. it ruined a bec and 2 lipos this is the last time i buy cheap esc !. i also had another 190a skywing that i simply plugged in batts on new setup to program it and within 1 minute the fets on the center board started popping like popcorn.

Back when it was only Castle, Hacker or Schulze esc's they were o.k. to get by for me until the swordfish & Hobbywing esc's came around that were much more reliable.

Better off with the newer designs.

The FETS they used have been discontinued stock in the USA for many years. My guess is that Suppo Electronics the original designer of this esc got a hold of a container load of these discontiued FETS for pennies per pound and a factory is spitting them out faster than rabbits multiply.
Within the pile of FETS there are going to be numerous out of spec that would fail at any point.

              Just supposing...

Many years back I worked at a friend's small fmaily company. Beside many stuff we were building inverters, which were used to power 220V AC stuff from a car battery. We used many different types of transistors as we developed the devices, and it was that time that I learned that a transistors of a given type can be made by many different manufacturers, and the difference can be quite dramatic! Some delivering over the rated power, some failing half way the rateings.
The same applies to mosfet transistors as well. One can buy good quality stuff like those from IR and other quality brands, but you can also buy other cheap stuff. Some are even falsificated by the PRC guys :)
Those cheap fets are the ones that are put in the budget ESCs and sooner or later they will start "popping like popcorn" as madmorgan said.
The Swordfish and Hobywing ESCs use IR mosfets that's the reason why they are so much better than the cheapo stuff. I had some cheap skywing, mystery, you name it brands and I learnt the hard way that cheap is very expensive in the long run!
Some of the cheapo ESC FETs desintegrated on their own, even the dark gray FET casing was bad quality, I guess they were similar from the inside as well.

                Thanks for the replies!
