Hi all,
I'm building a 1:8 scale hydro with tandem wing design and I would like to get some advice regarding the balance point.
Here are some shots from the hull :

I'm not sure what motor I'll choose, but hte power will be provided by 8S2P 5000 40C lipo and ESC will be a 40.160WK.
So my main concern for now is : where should be set the balance point for this kind of design ?
The builder of the hull said to place it as forward as I can : from the end of the sponsons to up to 50mm in front of the end of the sponsons. I'm suprised because I always seen the balance point set between the end of the sponsons and the back off the hull.
I owned a H&M Lifter several years ago and I set the balance point to something like 5 or 15% (can't remenber exactly) of the afterplane, but the design of the 1:8 is not the same so I don't know if the same rule of thumb apply...
I'll certainly have more questions later when I'll begin the build.
Best regards.
Mathieu
