RTR Boat Part Sizes & Dimensions Reference Manual

I'll tell you what is really needed in this business is a cross reference to all Ready to run Boats parts dimensions. I can't tell you how many times I have needed this information and wind up searching the forums for answers. You can't get this info at store site parts catalogs, where it just lists the model it fits - no mention of the bore/diameter/ length, etc. Maybe make a sticky where folks can post this info according to make/model. I would use it frequently.

Wow, I sure thought this was a good idea! Did it slip through the cracks or is everybody disinterested?

      Heya
Yeah it is a good idea, especially for when you get a new boat youll know exactly what parts you need to get to make it go faster.
I guess one problem is that a lot of boats are only made for a few months n then the next model/variation is out.

What I was leading to was when you need a certain (coupler, shaft, etc) if you had the dimensions, you could find one that was made for a different boat. Sometimes you can get great prices on RTR parts (closeouts, overruns) but don't know what else they fit - not knowing the size of the part.

Getting all the different manufacturers to cooperate with the details you want would be next to impossible, especially the chinese stuff.

No, Jim my intention was for owners of the boats to eventually fill in the blanks for future reference. Manufacturers would not want to participate because they may lose the sale of their higher priced parts when a lower price or more common part may fit (from another manufacturer). Therein lies value in such a reference log - to hobbyists.

Aha! Great idea! Maybe you could start a thread and ask Steven to make it a Sticky. Then as people get info they can go in and add it. You, or somebody needs to make an excel spreadsheet and update it as new info comes in.

I wouldn't know how to set something like that up. I just know it would draw a LOT of hits (Steven?) - possibly could be the single most used part of a website. As far as I know, no other forum or website features anything like this. But the potential benefits are substantial. Even huge. Sdg
