    ESC Max Temp?

    What's the max temp of the ESC before ?

    This morning I measured the temp of my Seaking 120A ESC at 60°c=140F and I wonder if I can prop up my Titan or not.

    My present Titan setup is:
    Motor: Leopard 4074 2000Kv
    ESC: Hobbywing Seaking 120A
    Timing: 0.0°
    Prop: Octura X640
    Battery: Zippy 5000mAh 40C 5S2P tot pack: 5S 10000mAh
    Boat weight: 3,75Kg = 8,26lb
    COG: 32%
    Vmax= 71,8Km/h = 44,6Mph

      Big, for constant use that is to high to run, you'll need a bigger ESC.

      Typically you want to run your ESC in the 100 area... higher end ESC can get up around 130, 140 (again this is just a general rule, escs will vary). At the higher point your building up heat from an inefficient system, and I can tell you with what your doing your ESC is on a limited life span

        Thank you. I have limited experience in FE boats and your temp explanation is very useful.
        So, I have to get a Seaking 180A .... I guess.

          That is a 4 pole motor with wye winds therefore you should also advance your timing to between 7 - 15 degrees. Could cut down you temps but I agree a T180 should be used.
