hk pursuit 1600 kv on 5s?

hey guys quick question, i have a hobbyking version of the 33" pursuit with the 3660 1600 kv motor and a 120 amp aquastar esc i was wondering if it would handle 5s lipo's or am i stuck useing 4s?
soon i will upgrade to the leopard 4074 with the 180 amp esc but for now i will have to use the stock setup.
    thanks for helping a newbe

If the aquastar can handle 5s, which i believe it can, then yes that motor would be a good 5s candidate.

My thoughts to why I said what I said is this, Yes, the Aquastar can handle I think up to 6S and being a 1600 KV motor, 5S under normal circumstances would be fantastic, BUT, its basically a "L" size 540 can pushing a 33" hull. Pretty big hull for that size motor IMO. It would work, but Id think you will have to prop down and then is it really worth it to spin 6k more rpm for another mph. I agree w/ M-a-W, the esc and motor are capable, but Im not confident it would work in that size hull. But, try it, run a couple laps, bring it in and check temps etc. If its all good, keep on going.

My buddy and i ran our pursuits today on 5s.

His is BONE stock, factory ESC and the blue 1620kv motor. A 2s and 3s were used in series that are 40c 5000's. He ran a Prather 215 and hit 40.8 mph with temps in the 90's all around. I was very impressed...........had great power out of the hole and a real nice sound at WOT. The 3660 motor didnt sweat a bit, and the ESC performed like a champ, i think its a 6s ESC.

So, i threw 5s in my Pursuit with its T180 and Leopard 2200kv.................holy smokes......59.2!! Smooth as silk and no temp issues at all............ran an x442. So from 4s to 5s is a 14mph increase, pretty impressive. Sadly no vid since i hadnt planned ahead to do it...............BUT, i will shoot a vid when i make a 6s SAW pass in the next day or two just for kicks! Ya think 70.....????

Its a .150 to 3/16, really not what i want, a little wimpy, but its all that was available several months ago. Basically its like the stock driveline from what i can remember(heck, the stock may have been 3/16?). Its the stock strut, i didnt get the one with the stinger.
