    motor esc problem

Put my df 23 on the pond today for the first time.( first time with a FE boat.) It ran great thru the first battery. Waited about 15 an placed 2nd battery in. The boat ran great for several laps then died. After rescuing (ice on the pond made it difficult) I plugged in another battery. A spark blew at the connector going from the esc to the motor. I disconected that wire believing it had came unsoldered. it looked fine. plugged the battery back in an the moter barley runs an it was unballanced. The motor AMMO 2300 original esc. Could the lead be bad? ESC bad? Motor bad? any help guys

Need a little more info. What prop did you use, what batts did you use. Temps before plug in not just wait time? Also is this the sniper you are talking about?

Yup. This was my old boat. I thought the same. Ray S told me it was a Suppo 7s 45 amp esc. I checked it out and, yup it sure was. I think the generally want people running 3s with the stock motor. Been working with yo man via PM to try to find the culprit.

So funny you said that because looking at the yellow wrapping I thought it may have been after you mentioned 7s. Since it's your old setup i well greatlfully bow out ... You can provide better info then I can on this setup... Thanks for the info on the DF esc..
