    Reaching the 1717's full potential/limits

This may help some trying to get what i consider to be a pretty darn good setup with the 1717.

Missed 60 by .6 mph today................59.4, and it was a bit windy, not bad, but enough to make some small waves, ran my new x450. I'm certain of hitting my goal of 60 with a run on glass.

Anyone interested on the setup can look here:

    http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ad.php?t=20054

Went from the starting x445 to an x447 and finally an x450........heck, there may be more left in it as temps were 92* on motor, 101* on ESC and batts 85*...............ambient air temp 68*.

I'm am very pleased with this boat and a bit proud as well, no vid but had two other forum members there to "witness" it.

39" mono, T180 and 6s2p by the way...................

Great job and congrat's on moving that big guy so well. Sounds like the 1717 is sized right for that hull. You sort of proved its what you know that makes a boat scoot. Not just throwing raw HP to overcome setup adjustments.

Thanks John..................but honestly, my knowledge wasnt what i was trying to throw out here..........its fairly good, and it helps me. As can be seen, I did have to go thru a good bit of testing though to get it there.............stinger adj., tabs, prop, cg etc.................you know. But thats the part thats all the fun...........tweaking something to its potential.

Kinda cool that my goal was 60 from the start though..................

I was running a 1717 with a X447/3 with no heat issues, so you should have a little more left with it.

Try a x 648 has more pitch than that x450 than try a x452 x455. your boat looks nice!

                  Nice job!
I saw a pretty significant difference in my 40" mono when going from an x452 to a s240. The s240. Maybe a s235 or s240 will get you over that 60 mark?
