I have a proboat apache rescue boat only for that sole purpose, has anyone tried added some power to the stock set up or do they run long enough to do a couple of retrivals in not to far distances, whats the run time puttin one around....im using 5000 7.4 pack that r new, my hobby shop said they will run 20 minutes at peak, im wondering if it will run 20 snail crawling on stock componets.

The stock setup will run at least 10 minutes. Dont know about twenty. I ran mine stock with 5000 mah LiPo and thats what I was getting. Should be fine for retrieval. I use the same boat but I replaced the electronics in mine with the 1500kv PB motor out of my Geico paired with an old Mamba Max ESC that I put in a balloon with no water cooling because it doesn't need it for it's duty. Works like a charm!

It's slow that's for sure. My video is on my youtube link in my profile... I normally can get about 3-5 rescues on a 3300 nimh... 2 of those packs can last me the whole day of running normally. I'm fully stock besides a xl5 esc. Been thinking about a putting a crawler motor on their and running a bigger prop.Comment

I have modified an AQ Tug with a push boom
the boom stays raised until you get to the scene of
the rescue.
A channel on the receiver
"lowers the boom" and you push the stricken vessel home.
She runs a modified Pitman motor and twin 3300 mah NiCads
in parallel
She has never run out of juice on a full day of rescues.
I let ladies on scene run her and
Not matter where I run my boats
they all luv the tugboat most
