    internal failure of bec on esc?

    can someone put me right?
    i hear alot of people say that esc's have fried due to internal bec failure..
    my question is if the esc' fries what are signs that the u bec was ever the part at fault in the first place. how would you know??
    thanks for any replies.....

      for me, I set mine up with a seperate receiver pack.

      that is just me.

        The only controllers I do not use battery packs with are the Castle ICE controllers. Those BECs are good to 8S.

          If you read through hobbykings site for the T180, some people have had issues with the BEC. It could have been a result of the onboard BEC frying itself and going bad, but some of these people have attached an external battery and got the T180 working fine after that.

          My genesis runs a small 6V pack and no esc bec, and i have had no issues.
          I think that running a ESC BEC has its advantages, e.g. Less stuff in the boat, less to go wrong, you dont have to charge battery before going to lake etc, but also having a receiver pack to wiggle the rudder if the battery dies is also nice :D
