you're looking for silver bearing solder, doubt RS would have anything like that, best bet would be a welding supply shop or possibly a good auto parts store.
You used to be able to buy it at almost any hardware store, now that DIY is DOA good luck finding anything at a hardware store or RS these days!
Sta-Brite is a brand name you could look for, usually comes with the right flux for the solder.

Actually RS does carry silver solder. It has worked fine for me. Haven't lost a shaft yet.

RS must still be good in the STates, in Canada they are know known as the Source and carry basically nothing. I couldn't even get a 4 cell AA battery holder to make up a new RX pack from them had to order it online!
LOL probably one more thing I'll have to start ordering from the states! Just like everything else, then get hooped on duty, brokerage and exchange.
Need my damn head examined, I born in the States and have dual, so I'm not sure why the heck I'm living in a second world country with a fascist government!
Cheers, envious you can just go down the road and buy what you need!

Try a hardware or plumbing store. They usually carry silver solder/flux.

                Go to mcmaster.com

                Look up solder

Get a good mechanical grade solder for stub shafts and flux.

Get a good electrical grade for electronics and flux.

                OR

Go to a welding supply house and tell them what you want or what you need the solder for.

You may be sorry after polishing and balancing your props to have it flung off the cable come spring time.

                    while we broach the subject

                    would anyone care to mention
the torch they use to melt
                    the silver solder.

                    is butane hot enough?
                    Mapp gas?

or will a simple propane plumbers torch work?

                    Thanks in advance.
