    New 36" cat from RVM-R2Hobbies

New cat, looks nice. Similar dimensions to the Maritimo I think.

Are they in a competition to see who can come up with the ugliest hatches? My goodness!

And it is good to know that for $75 you get the "ultra strength polyester". Still, $117 delivered for a 36" cat is dang cheap. Another cheap chinese cat, terrific.

It's cheap if you compare it to an American-European similar hull. I think the the quality would be the same as the apparition-genesis-32" hor etc....
Best thing to do with all these hulls is to reinforce them with carbon or carbon-kevlar to cover the seam as well, and add some epoxy putty forward to the sponsons and tunnel connections.

Ive seen both the Apparition & Genisis in the flesh, A friend had both. & based on the close up shots id seen on the R2 hobbies boat they were worlds apart, & im not just talking about one might need an extra bit of glass or carbon in the bottom of the hull. At the end of the day im afraid you get what you pay for, But that choice is down to the buyer. Thanks Martin.

Martin I definately believe that all Chinese hulls have the same quality. The apparition is like "carton box" to me, it all depends on your experience on how you judge the boats. If you have seen some boats from MHZ or Aeromarine then you can see that the appariion or any other Chinese hull is inferior in strength but this is not a problem to many people because might want it for sport running at 30-40 mph (but after the first flip over results might be dissapointing) or if want it for more speed they know that reinforcement is required.

For the specific boat what do you see in the pictures and makes you believe that is worse than the apparition or the genesis?

I def dont think all Chinese hulls are the same Quality, Their are some that are certainly not perpect & need attention in small areas their are others that you virtually need to gut the entire boat out & start again. I agree most if not all need thickening up in certain areas if you want to go fast. The pictures i saw of the boat just looked as though it had been put together overall by an inexperienced modeller compared with others that had been built by an experienced builder if i can discribe it like that. But hey im not the one potentialy buying one so the best way is to get one & have a look at them. I just think their are better made boats coming from China but they are more expesive though. As they say you pays yer money & takes yer choice. Thanks Martin.

A few local guys run them and they handle great and look good over all, but that seam is horrible looking! A must would be to fill in the seam and throw a simple color over it. Then it would look 100% finished.

The twin with the hardware looks nice but I don't see what size drive hardware they are using. Probably 4MM?

                        Looks nice.

I have owned the single version but sold it because I wanted to do a twin instead.

When I got the hull, yes, it is not the thickest layup but, I found the edges were as sharp as H&M, far far sharper than HOR, EKOS etc...

Others have commented different but, I may snag one of these, nice dimensions and yes the Canopy is FUGLY!!!! but, it can be fixed up to look o.k.

I like the ridge down the center, helping to make it more rigid than the single version.

I hate the internal wood, thats nasty, lol...
