I do not know the "best" set up but have used a Leopard 4074, 2200KV on 4S with great success. Now run a Leopard 4074, 1800KV on 5 S with a three bladed prop and am getting 58 MPH. Both use T-180 ESC's. I would recommend reading all the Pursuit threads and this will go a long way to assisting you. -

Also check threads on DF33, information on that boat applies to the pursuit. I run the following setup on my pursuit. No GPS at this time but it's fast as hell and is a pleasure to drive.
Motor: Leopard 4074 2200kv
Esc: Seaking 180
Drive: .187 3/16 flexcable
Props: Tested a m445, moving up to a modded x447
Batts: 2x Turnigy 4s 3600mah 30c in parallel
* on the m445 after a 4 minute run the motor and esc where around 103F-110F. The leopard are much MUCH better motors then the Feigao's and are at a great price. I also run a 4074 1774kv motor in a 29" cat with amazing results. I was running a Cf48 on that 1774kv and the motor never broke 100F on 4s and ran 48mph.Comment
