horsepower
Thanks make a wake, everything is listed rpm/kv per volt etc so thats what I'm trying to convert, like how they list motors on ose, figure hp and rpms is what I'm trying to do.Comment
-
and rpms is Volts x kv
22.2v (6s) x 1300kv = 28860rpms
but keep in mind, the motor will only pull the amps need to run
so that 3.35hp motor may only pull 50amps on 6s = 1110 watts or 1.49hpLast edited by Brushless55; 02-02-2011, 01:44 PM..NAMBA20...Caterpillar UL-1, P-Spec OM29, P-Mono DF33, P-Spec JAE, Aussie 33" Hydro-LSH, Sprintcat CC2028 on 8s, PT SS45 Q Hydro, PS295 UL-1 power, OSE Brothers Outlaw QMono 4-sale, Rio 51z CC2028 on 8sComment

hp
I get the rpm-kv-parts but nobody list the watts part the watts part is what I'm trying to figure out what-what-what = watts,,,,, but thanks for the other info, I'll keep that notedComment

volts x amps = wattsIf my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?Comment

Yep.................so a motor pulling 100 amps on 6s = 3hp............NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE:http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

The "best" way is to use the maximum rating of the ESC in amps, then multiply by the voltage. Don't use 3.7 volts per cell as LiPos will put out lower voltages under high loads. Use 3.4 to 3.6 volts. and do not multiply amps time volts - that will not give an accurate value. You need to know the efficiency of the motor you are using. Most BL motors are between 80% and 92%.
So: you have an ESC rated at 200 amps and 4S LiPos. You assume that the packs will deliver 13.6 volts under load. Your motor has an efficiency of 88%.
200 amps x 13.6 volts x 0.88% efficiency = 2393 watts/746 = 3.2 horsepower NOT 4 hp!
But not all motors will last at 200 amps draw. It is just not as simple as it is with an IC engine, and because the power delivery is much different you cannot directly compare a 3 hp IC engine with a 3hp BL motor..
