The wings are designed to provide lift to allow the hull to run smoothly in heavy chop.

I've not seen this particular bat boat but I've seen others. I think they strugle in rc form because the actual ride surface in the water is very narrow. Then throw in all those steps for aeration and it just gets all weird. I'm not saying it can't work. I just haven't seen it. They sure look cool though.

Ray Fuller used to sell a stearable strut similar to that. Had the skeg and everything. Whitt used to run them on the Key West for N2 offshore. Haven't seen one in a long time though.

The boat looks awesome. The hull quality isnt very good very thin it painfully slow less than 25mph out the box. I then put a supervee 27 motor and esc in it. It still wasnt even that fast waay slower than a supervee. It didnt handle very well lost lots of speed turning in. Also the windows let in water and it sat very low on one side and pulled to one side due to the battery position. It also ran very wet. Overall not a very good boat DO NOT BUY IT !

Here are some pics to show the scale (to human) of the actual boat. And one of an earlier? version with a u-joint. Guess that didn't work out.

I'm tempted to buy one, rebuild it, and throw a 35-56-2600 in it on 2 or 3S. Should be as fast as my old Widowmaker on 2S but handle much better since it doesnt seem to porpoise.

Can someone fill me in on the purpose of the wings though? Is it just a design thing or does it prevent the boat from flipping over in sharp turns? Ether way, the scale looks are awesome!!
Thats the word!!.."strudder".Being still the actual owner of a CenGt700(modified of course but still with stock outdrive) ill say that i don`t like the way the teflon liner and flex cable are forced to turn/twist by the "strudder" system.Rather have that old u joint system there than just the liner and flex doing the job.
So im gonna have to go with you JackBlack, just buy the hull and fit another kind of hardware in the back.I know this was done on the CenGt`s back in the day so maybe Steve may know and suggest what to use back in the transom.Im guessing an inline strut/rudder system will work as theres not a big flat area to work with at the transom.
So all in all what would be a good hardware for it?.....i do also like its scale looks a lot...........Albert
